Mission Statement
The Mission of the Department of Animal Science:
Through education, research, and outreach we serve people by providing continued improvements in the efficient and humane production of animals and wholesome animal products.
Teaching Mission:
We provide lifelong opportunities for people to learn about animal biology, management systems for domestic animals, and the role of animals in a changing society.
Research Mission:
We seek new knowledge about the biology, production and care of domestic animals.
Extension & Outreach Mission:
We interpret research and provide education for producers and consumers of animal products to improve their economic well being and quality of life.
