Research Project Intern

JBS United, Inc. is looking for a highly motivated, individual interested in participating in research projects in company-owned research facilities in Indiana during summer, 2012.

The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with an interest in swine production and/or applied swine research. Characteristics of this individual would include: high attention to detail, willingness to learn, strong written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to perform some physical activity. The intern will be located at the corporate office in Sheridan, IN with frequent travel to research facilities within 30 miles of the corporate office to provide oversight for research projects.

The intern will learn some basic experimental design and importance of research detail conducted on research farms. Knowledge gained by conducting research in swine production facilities will be a valuable upon graduation regardless of career choice. It is possible that this internship could lead to a career with JBS United or a swine production company upon graduation.

Wage: A competitive wage. Additionally, an attractive stipend will be paid at the successful completion of the research trial.

Midwest Poultry Consortium
Scholarship/Internship Opportunity

The Midwest Poultry Consortium offers up to 30 scholarships for undergraduate students to take a curriculum of three poultry science classes at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Classes are taught by faculty from participating land grant universities and poultry industry experts. Up to nine credits can be earned for each summer session; credits transfer to the students’ home universities and are accepted towards graduation Paid internships are provided by MPC member companies to students accepted into the program.
