Activities and Interests
Nutrition, health, and management of calves to be used for dairy heifer replacements or dairy-beef production; nutrition, growth, development and economics of raising dairy heifers. Inter-relationships of nutrition, physiology, metabolism, and genetics in dairy cattle; production systems for raising Holstein beef calves and dairy heifers (confinement vs grazing); forage utilization (pasture and confinement) and mineral metabolism by ruminants; feeding by-product feeds and feed additives to ruminants; dairy herd health and nutrition; whole farm nutrient balance on livestock farms.
