VetFAST Program
(Veterinary Food Animal Scholars Program)

If you are interested in veterinary medicine, you should consider our VetFAST Program...

The VetFAST Program (Veterinary Food Animal Scholars Program). The University developed this unique program to meet the high demand for veterinarians trained to work with food production animals, such as dairy and beef cattle, swine, poultry, sheep, and goats.

VetFAST can allow you to get an admissions decision by the University's College of Veterinary Medicine at the end of your first year in college rather than your junior or senior year. This enables you to complete your pre-veterinary studies in three years instead of the typical four, saving you an entire year! In addition, you are exempt from taking the Graduate Record Exam (G.R.E.) and benefit from mentorships with veterinary faculty and students.

In VetFAST, you can also participate in summer veterinary and industry work opportunities, research projects, and internships.
