2007 Ag Awareness: May 15, 16, 17

Ag Awareness is an annual event organized by the graduate students of the Departments of Animal Science and Applied Plant Sciences. The event is held in May each year on the University of Minnesota St. Paul Campus.

Ag Awareness is a learning experience that encompasses many aspects of agriculture. The goal of Ag Awareness is to provide an interactive, hands-on learning environment for urban and/or suburban elementary students with little or no exposure to agriculture.

We present booths on the sheep, dairy, beef, swine and poultry industries, and two agronomy booths; one to learn about what plants need to grow, the other on identifying common crop plants. See Booth Synopsis for a description of each booth.

Schools are scheduled on a first come, first serve basis.

Such an event would not be possible without the many sponsors who support Ag Awareness and the volunteers who assist with the activities each day.

No dates have been set for 2008. For information about Ag Awareness, please contact Jamie Larson at 612-624-3063.
